Save the Date!!

We are in the process of planning Mia's 1st Birthday Party. I was one of those people that used to think,
"why do some people go all out for a childs first birthday party when they will not even have any memories from it?" Well, now that I am a mom....I understand. It is a big deal, probably as much for us, her parents, as it is for her. This year has been incredible and I want to celebrate it! I feel like we all have accomplished so much this past year. We survived the sleepless nights, the spitting up, the worrying, and all the joys (stresses) that come with new parenthood. Mia is standing up almost ready to take her first steps, she eats most everything already, she is learning something new almost every day.....to me, all of this calls for a celebration!!

We are having an Alice in Wonderland theme, seemed appropriate to me, plus it is a theme that we can really have fun with! Besides, it is probably the only year I will ever be able to pick out her party theme because by next year she will already have favorite characters or things. We have rented out a pavilion at a park and we are going to deck it out, 'Alice in Wonderland' style! We have been preparing little by little since my mom was here in Dec/Jan., so it should (hopefully) be fabulous!! We are going to have fun, unique activities for the kids, for example..'Make Your Own Mad Hatter Hat' and lots of other fun surprises! The invitations were a little labor intensive (part of my OCD problem when it comes to attention to detail), but they are finally going in the mail no later than this weekend, Many thanks to Nick who helped! (dont tell anyone, but he really is crafty too! LOL) Although this year is a BIG bash, we will definitely have more mellow birthday celebrations in years to come (except for the big milestone b-days, of course) As I mentioned I truly have OCD about the details, right down to the colors, the cake, everything....its very bad, and I am aware of my problem! So I really need to try to stay away from planning theme parties for my own sanity, if possible! :)

The party is set to go down Sunday March 16th at 2:30pm. I can not wait and I hope to see you all there! It should be lots of fun!! and lots of good food!! (pray for no rain!) although we do have a covered pavilion, so it is on, rain or shine!
So pull out the Alice in Wonderland movie and refresh your memory and if your kids have not seen it yet, show them or read them the book so they will 'get' the activities and decorations! :)

Here are some most recent pictures of our sweet Mia....

Christmas 2007....finally!

Sorry for the delay in a Christmas post! I was waiting to have pictures to post with it. I actually STILL dont have Christmas pictures on my computer, but I stole these from my sisters myspace!! (so sad) :)

This was by far my best Christmas ever! I already can not wait for next Christmas!! Seeing it through my daughters eyes was magical!! Mia really 'got' the opening presents thing more than I thought she would! It was a really fun day! We had a house full. My family was down from NY and Nick's family was over too, it was Christmas just the way it should be....TONS of family!!

Here are a few pics of Mia on her first Christmas.
